Upgrade prerequisites

Before upgrading the Report Engine:

  • Upgrade the operating system to the supported version. See System-requirements-for-BMC-ProactiveNet-Performance-Management-Reporting for supported operating systems.

  • Upgrade any Oracle database version to Oracle 11.2.0.2.0 Enterprise edition with Partitioning option.

    Note

    Oracle partitioning enhances the manageability, performance, and availability of data. Partitioning allows tables, indexes, and index-organized tables to be subdivided into smaller pieces, enabling these database objects to be managed and accessed at a finer level of granularity.

  • If you are using BMC ProactiveNet version 8.0.00 or earlier, you must upgrade to BMC ProactiveNet 8.5.00 or higher versions to use BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Reporting. For more information, see the BMC ProactiveNet Upgrade Guide and Upgrading.
