Recommendations

For hardware and software requirements for BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Reporting, see Hardware and operating system requirements for BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Reporting. BMC recommends that you install the components of BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Reporting in the following sequence. For detailed information about the sequence for a new installation, see Sequence-for-a-new-installation

  • Install BMC ProactiveNet version 9.0.00. (BMC ProactiveNet supports both Sybase and Oracle Database.)

  • Install Oracle Database version 11.2.0.2.0, Enterprise edition with Partitioning option. BMC recommends that you have a dedicated computer for Oracle Database and a dedicated Oracle instance for BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine.

    Warning

    Note

    Oracle Database is not part of the BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Suite. It has to be procured by the customers.

  • Install SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP3 on a separate computer. BMC recommends that you have a dedicated computer for SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise.

  • Install BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine version 9.0.00 on a separate computer. BMC recommends that you have a dedicated computer for BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine.

    Warning

    Note

    One installation of BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine supports only one BMC ProactiveNet Server.
