Configuring after installation
You configure BMC ProactiveNet Oracle Tuxedo Monitoring when you create a policy. A policy is a template that contains the configuration of a PATROL Agent. A policy can be assigned to one or more PATROL Agents by using a unique tag, and a PATROL Agent can be assigned one or more policies with different precedence.
A policy contains the following major elements, each corresponding to a specific tab in Central Monitoring Administration console:
- Name, Central Monitoring Administration tag, and priority. See Configuring general settings.
- Monitor solution configuration. See Configuring monitor settings.
- Alarm threshold configuration. See Configuring threshold settings.
- Actions to be performed on the BMC ProactiveNet Server when the policy is active. See Configuring-server-side-settings.
If you did not add the Central Monitoring Administration tag to your PATROL Agents during the solution installation, you must manually assign the tag after you have configured the policy. For details see Adding-Central-Monitoring-Administration-tags.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
