Adding external links and dynamic fields in BMC Network Automation
Entuity UI and exports have been enhanced over a period of time. Entuity UI includes URLs that can be customized. You can then directly click these URLs from the device information window in BMC Network Automation. This topic includes the following prerequisite sections:
Adding external links
Add the following external links in BMC Network Automation to access various reports from the device information window:
- To access the Entuity Advanced Device Details report: http://<entuityserver>:<entuitywebport>/webUI/objectDetails.do?server=${device.<EntuityServerID>}&menuName=Explorer&view=My Network&id=${device.<EntuityID>}
- To access the Entuity Device Events report: http://<entuityserver>:<entuitywebport>/webUI/viewEvents.do?view=My Network&objectId=${device.<EntuityID>}&fltId=eFilter0
- To access the Entuity Device Summary report: http://<entuityserver>:<entuitywebport>/webUI/objectSummary.do?server=${device.<EntuityServerID>}&menuName=Explorer&view=My Network&id=${device.<EntuityID>}
In the above URLs, you must specify the following IDs using which you can link BMC Network Automation to Entuity by using in-context launches:
- EntuityServerID
- EntuityID (Storm ID number, which uniquely identifies an object within Entuity)
Adding dynamic fields
Add dynamic fields in BMC Network Automation with the following details:
Component | Assignment | Value Type | Name | Applicable Device Type(s) | Maximum Length
|
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Device | User Assigned | Text | EntuityServerID | All | 255 |
Device | User Assigned | Integer | EntuityID | All | N/A |
You can then view these two parameters on the Network > Devices page.
