Sizing and scalability considerations
This topic provides some recommendations for achieving optimal performance and scalability when deploying BMC Network Automation. Components installed include the BMC Network Automation application server on a single host and BMC Network Automation remote device agents on one or more hosts.
Overview of BMC Network Automation deployment
This section describes the components of a BMC Network Automation installation.
Single application server
The application server specifications in the following table are based on the number of managed devices. These specifications are for a live production environment.

Multiple application servers – required for management of more than 25,000 devices
An installation comprising of more than 25,000 devices might require multiple application servers and remote device agents.

Note that when there are multiple application servers, the servers are not truly clustered, that is, they do not share data or content. It might be necessary to synchronize content by exporting the content from one server and importing it into the other(s).
