Permissions required for Windows installations
This topic provides a comprehensive list of the permissions required to install the Windows products in BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management. It provides useful links to other help topics that describe how to perform a specific task, for example, configuring a trust relationship.
The following information is provided:
Installer host permissions
The user must be:
- The local Administrator of the system (not a domain user).
- Added to the Administrators group on the system.
Target host permissions
The following target host permissions are required when installing specific products:

| You must have administrator privileges for actions, such as setting system environment variables and restarting services. Therefore, having only administrator privileges is not enough. You must set the User Account Control (UAC) to disable the Administrator Approval Mode. |

TrueSight Network Automation | You must create a user account (for example, bcan) when installing the TrueSight Network Automation product. This account is referred to as the BCAN_USER account. The user account cannot be an administrator account and must have privileges to log on locally. |
