Verifying the CLM Self-Check Monitor installation


You can verify that the CLM Self-Check Monitor product was installed successfully by using the following procedures.

To review the installation logs

  1. If you just completed installing the CLM Self-Check Monitor and the installer prompts you to view the installation log, click View Log and skip to step 3.
  2. If you already exited the installation host, perform the following steps:
    1. Log on to the CLM Self-Check Monitor host.
    2. Open the selfchecker_install_log.txt log file, located in C:\Windows\Temp on Microsoft Windows and /tmp on Linux.
  3. In the log, verify whether any error messages were reported.
  4. If a SEVERE or WARNING error message was reported, consult the Known and corrected issues and Troubleshooting the installation, migration, or upgrade sections. You may also contact BMC Customer Support for additional help.

To restart CLM Self-Check Monitor service

After installing CLM Self-Check Monitor, on Linux servers, restart the service for the secret key configurations to be reflected. 

  1. Run the following command to stop the CLM Self-Check Monitor service: 

    /etc/init.d/bmcclmhealth stop
  2. Run the following command to stop the CLM Self-Check Monitor service:

    /etc/init.d/bmcclmhealth start

To verify the CLM Self-Check Monitor installation

  1. In a browser, enter the Tomcat URL.
    For example:
    https://SelfChecker:5443
  2. If you installed using the CLM Self-Check Monitor with the existing HTTPS self-signed certificate, your connection is initially distrusted in the browser. Add and confirm the site exception.
  3. Verify that the Apache Tomcat welcome page appears. 
  4. Enter the full Self-Checker URL.
    For example:
    https://SelfChecker:5443/health

You are now ready to configure the CLM Self Checker.
