Creating and managing server entries in a load balancer pool


You can create server entries in a load balancer pool and manage the entries in the pool as described in the following tasks:

To create a pool entry

  1. Access the Manage Load Balancers window as described in Managing-load-balancers.
  2. Select a pool name from the Load Balancer Pools table on the left.
  3. In the Pool Entries for selected Load Balancer Pool table on the right, click the Create Pool Entries button plus_button.gif.
     The Choose Compute Containers in a Load Balancer - Step 1 dialog box is displayed.

  4. Find the compute containers that you want to add to the selected load balancer. You can search for compute containers by entering a search string in the Search box and clicking the Search icon search_button.gif.
  5. Select one or more compute containers and click the Add button to move them to the Selected Compute Containers table.
     You can also drag and drop compute containers from the Available Compute Containers table to the Selected Compute Containers table.
  6. Click Next.
     The Choose Compute Containers in a Load Balancer - Step 2 dialog box is displayed.

  7. Edit the compute container's details:
    1. Click the Enabled box if you want to enable balancing of network loads for the IP address in the load balancer pool.
    2. Click the Override Application Protocol box to override the default value by specifying a protocol or entering a port number.
    3. Click the Update button to apply your changes.
  8. Click OK.
     The compute container is added as an entry to the load balancer pool.

To enable or disable a pool entry

  1. Select the pool entry name to enable or disable from the Pool Entries for selected Load Balancer Pool table.
    The row with the selected entry is highlighted.
  2. Click one of the following buttons:
    • bulbon.gifEnable Pool Entry
    • bulboff.gifDisable Pool Entry

The entry is enabled or disabled.

To delete a pool entry

  1. Select the pool entry name to delete from the Pool Entries for selected Load Balancer Pool table.
    The row with the selected name is highlighted.
  2. Click the Delete Pool Entry button minus_button.gif.
