Configuring the path for storage attach and detach scripts

To ensure that the attach and detach storage operations are performed correctly, you must manually configure the path to the BMC Server Automation Network Shell (NSH) scripts that are used to attach and detach storage resources.

To configure storage script locations

  1. Determine the full path to the NSH scripts.
     The installer copies the NSH scripts to the <Bladelogic NSH installation directory>/scripts folder.
  2. Using a web browser, log on to the BMC Atrium Orchestrator Grid Manager with your administrator credentials: http://<hostname>:28080/baocdp.
     In the URL, hostname represents the name or IP address of the computer that hosts BMC Atrium Orchestrator.
  3. Navigate to the BMC-SA-My_Services_Portal module as follows:
    1. Click the Manage tab.
    2. Click the Modules tab.
    3. Select the BMC-SA-My_Services_Portal module.
  4. In the navigation tree, open the following item: Configuration > Actions > Attach_Storage > Storage > NSH_Scripts_Copy_From.
    configure-storage-scripts.png
  5. Update the <script-location> element in the XML.
     Sample XML:

    <script-location>
      <windows>/E/PROGRA~1/BMCSOF~1/BladeLogic/8.1/NSH/scripts</windows>
      <unix>/opt/bmc/bladelogic/NSH/scripts</unix>
    </script-location>
    • If the BMC Atrium Orchestrator configuration distribution peer (CDP) is intalled on a Microsoft Windows system, enter the path to the NSH scripts in the <windows> element.
    • If the CDP is installed on a Linux system, enter the path to the NSH scripts in the <unix> element.
  6. In the navigation tree, open the following item: Configuration > Actions > Detach_Storage > Storage > Copy_From.
  7. Update the <script-location> element in the XML (see step 5).
