Benefit

BMC Change Management

BMC Change Management is a component of the BMC Remedy IT Service Management suite that provides the ability to plan, schedule, implement, and track changes that need to be completed within your cloud infrastructure.

When you integrate BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management with BMC Change Management, service requests that you generate from a service offering instance in your cloud environment can generate change requests in BMC Change Management based on service offering configuration. This integration enables you to include service requests for cloud infrastructure in your change management process.

BMC Capacity Optimization

BMC Capacity Optimization delivers holistic, business-aware, and automated capacity management. BMC Capacity Optimization has an open, flexible, and scalable architecture and an to easy-to-use and customizable user interface that does not require specialist skills to implement or use.

When you integrate BMC Capacity Optimization into your cloud environment, you gain access to the following features:

  • Capacity-Aware Placement Advice (CAPA) that enables BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management to intelligently place workloads based on current CPU, memory, and disk utilization
  • Cloud Capacity Visibility (CCV) view that displays utilization and capacity of cloud resources
  • Direct launch of BMC Capacity Optimization from the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management – Administration Console Dashboards workspace

BMC ProactiveNet Server

For virtualized and cloud services, BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management provides monitoring and analysis of virtual and cloud components and their mapping to physical resources and end-user response times.

BMC ProactiveNet Central Server can fetch cloud topology from BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management and push cloud constructs to the appropriate BMC ProactiveNet Child Servers. This integration allows you to monitor cloud constructs provisioned by BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management.

IP address management

You can use the integrated IPAM system in BMC Network Automation, or you can enable an interface between BMC Network Automation and a third-party IPAM system. BMC Atrium Orchestrator is used as a middle tier between BMC Network Automation and the third-party IPAM system. BMC Network Automation currently supports the use of the Alcatel-Lucent VitalQIP IPAM and the Infoblox IPAM products as third-party IPAM solutions.

DDI (DNS, DHCP and IPAM)

The cloud administrator has the ability to specify the DNS server for the container-level networks and NAT pools when creating the container.

LDAP/Active Directory

Describes how to integrate BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) for authentication purposes, using BMC Remedy Action Request System Server.
