Installing an Azure Provider using the Azure Provider installer


The following topics describe how to install the Azure Provider through the Azure installer and verify the installation. The following information is provided: 

Before you begin

Before you install the Azure Provider, ensure that you have completed the tasks listed in Prerequisites-for-installing-the-Azure-Provider and that you have the Azure Provider installer files (setup.cmd or setup.sh) stored on your local computer.

To install the Azure Provider

  1. At the command prompt, run the following command to start the installation:
    • (Microsoft Windows, logged on as an Administrator) setup.cmd
    • (Linux, logged on as root) setup.sh
  2. On the Welcome page, shown in the following figure, click Next.

  3. Review the license agreement, shown in the following figure, then select I agree to the terms of license agreement and click Next.

  4. Review the Azure Provider Installation Prerequisites window, shown in the following figure, and ensure that the installation requirements are met:

  5. Select I have read the prerequisites, and click Next.
  6. Select the type of installation as Install or Upgrade and for one or two AR System server (shown in the following figure).

  7. In the BMC AR System Server connection inputs window, enter the BMC AR System server or enterprise AR System server name for one of the following installation types, and click Next:
    • For a new installation on BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management 4.1.00 or an upgrade from anearlier installation of BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management having one AR System server, enter the information shown in the following figure:

    • For a new installation on BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management 4.1.00 or an upgrade from an earlier installation of BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management having two AR System servers, enter the information shown in the following figure:

  8. In the BMC AR System Server inputs window, enter the BMC AR System server or enterprise AR System server user credentials and port number for one of the following installation types, and click Next:

    Note

    Depending on your environment configurations, the port number of BMC AR System Server is retrieved by the Azure Provider installer. In this case, verify the port number and ensure that it is entered correctly here.

    • For a new installation on BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management 4.1.00 or an upgrade from an earlier installation of BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management having one AR System server, enter the information shown in the following figure:Instl6_1.png
    • For a new installation on BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management 4.1.00 or an upgrade from an earlier installation of BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management having two AR System servers, enter the information shown in the following figure:

  9. In the Cloud Platform Manager connection inputs window, specify the required details, and click Next:

    • Name of the server on which the Cloud Platform Manager is installed
    • Cloud Platform Manager user credentials
    • Path to where the Cloud Platform Manager is installed

  10. On the Installation Preview page, click Next 
  11. Read the warning related to stopping the BMC_CSM service of the Cloud Platform Manager, and click Next.
  12. On the Installation Summary page, click View Log to review any messages.
  13. To exit the installer, click Done.

To verify the installation

  1. In the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management – Administration Console, click the vertical Workspaces menu on the left side of the window, and select Providers.
  2. Click Register plus_button.gif.
  3. In the Register Provider window, verify that the Azure provider type is shown in the Provider Type list.
