Running BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management in Amazon Web Services

You can build and run the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management stack in an AWS cloud using the standard BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management installation and configuration steps.

Note the following prerequisites for this use case:

  • You must create one or more appropriate AWS EC2 instances in an AWS VPC for the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Managemen server(s). For sizing requirements, see Sizing-and-scalability-factors-by-environment.
  • You must create one or more database servers (either as AWS EC2 instances or as AWS RDS instances).
  • You must open all the required ports in the security group. For port information, see Port-mappings.
  • If you are using SQL Server, you must either ensure you are using the proper settings related to remote DB installation for BMC Cloud Lifecycle Managemen, or you must install the database and AR system server on the same box

To run the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management stack in an AWS cloud, use the standard installation and configuration steps to build the stack in an AWS VPC. See the following topics for the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management installation and configuration steps:

Note

BMC supports the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management installation and configuration tasks for this use case, but does not support any AWS-specific issues that arise from this implementation.
