Configuring VND storage offering mappings


To configure storage resources, you must associate the storage service request definitions that you created to a storage resource provider and then provide configuration information.

Before you begin

To configure VND storage offering mappings

  1. From the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management Administration Console, click the vertical Workspaces menu on the left side of the window and select Providers.
  2. In the Providers workspace, click the Storage category under Quick Links.
  3. Select a storage provider.
    Click the Manage Storage Mappings icon mapstorageicon.gif.
     The Manage Storage Mappings dialog box is displayed:

    1. Click the New Storage Mapping icon Add-24.png.
      The Create Storage Offering Mapping dialog box is displayed:

    2. For Deployment Request, select a service request definition that you created for storage.
    3. Under Map to Storage Provider Details, select the following values:
      • Storage Provider—Select the NetApp storage provider to use.
      • NetApp Adapter Configuration—Enter the logical name of the DataFabric Manager (DFM) server.
        This logical DFM server name is the same name specified in the BMC Atrium Orchestrator NetApp Actor adapter configuration.
      • NetApp Storage Service—Enter the NetApp Storage Service name created on the DFM server.
    4. Click Save.

To edit VND storage offering mappings

  1. From the Manage Storage Mappings dialog, click the Edit Storage Mapping icon Edit-24.png.
    The Edit Storage Offering Mapping dialog box is displayed.

  2. In Deployment Request, you can change the service request definition specified for storage.
  3. Under Map to Storage Provider Details, you can change these values:
    • Storage Provider
    • NetApp Adapter Configuration
    • NetApp Storage Service
  4. Click Save.

To delete VND storage offering mappings

  1. From the Manage Storage Mappings dialog box, select the mapping that you want to delete.
  2. Click Delete Storage Mapping Delete-24.png.
     A confirmation message is displayed.
  3. Click one of the following buttons:
    • Yes — to confirm that you want to delete the storage mapping
    • No — to keep the storage mapping
