Resource management workspace overview

The Resource Management workspace provides onboarding, pooling, and visualization of resources in the cloud. For overview information, see Resource-management-overview.

Quick links provide short cuts to resources. Double-click to open or close a section. You can also close a section by clicking closequicklinks.gif.

The following quick links are available:

  • General—Provides access to locations and pods. 
    • Locations—Click to display all locations for pods that have been onboarded. Double-click a location to view the location's pods. 
    • Pods—Click to view all pods in all locations. Double-click a pod to view the network containers in the pod. 
  • Network—Provides access to the list of network containers. 
    • Network Containers—Click to view all network containers in BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management. 
  • Compute—Provides a list of compute resource pools and a list of resources that have not yet been pooled.  
    • Compute Pools—Click to view and manage compute resource pools. 
    • Resources—Click to view, onboard, and manage compute resources. 
  • Platform—Provides a list of platform resource pools and a list of resources that have not yet been pooled.  
    • Platform Pools—Click to view and manage platform resource pools. 
    • Resources—Click to view, onboard, and manage platform resources.

To enable or disable launching BMC ProactiveNet and BMC Capacity Optimization from BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management

If BMC ProactiveNet or BMC Capacity Optimization are integrated with your BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management environment, you can click the Cross Launch Options icon launch-icon.png to in the Resources workspace launch the console for those products.

  1. From the vertical Workspaces menu in the Administration Console, click Configuration.
  2. In the Configuration Options workspace, click the Console Preferences tab.
  3. In the Cloud Administrator Console Configuration section, set the BCO Console Launchpreference:
    • Select Show to enable launching the BMC Capacity Optimization Console from the Resources workspace.
    • Select Hide to disable launching the BMC Capacity Optimization Console from the Resources workspace.
  4. In the BPPM URL field enter a URL to the BMC ProactiveNet Operations Console.
  5. In the Cloud Administrator Console Configuration section, set the BPPM Console Launch preference:
    • Select Show to enable launching the BMC ProactiveNet Operations Console from the Resources workspace.
    • Select Hide to disable launching the BMC ProactiveNet Operations Console from the Resources workspace.
