Overview of workspaces


Administration overview topics provide an overview of the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management Administration Console user interface and its features. The BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management Administration Console provides access to cloud administrator features through separate workspaces:

  • Quick Start workspace: Provides a wizard-based approach to performing the configuration needed to provision virtual machines
  • Configuration workspace: Provides access to BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management Administration Console initial configuration options
  • Dashboards workspace: Provides data charts that display cloud usage metrics
  • Providers workspace: Enables the cloud administrator to register resource providers that supply resources for the cloud
  • Service Instances workspace: Provides access to the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management My Cloud Services Console so that the cloud administrator can request cloud services and view cloud services requested by cloud users
  • Service Catalog workspace: Provides access to the Service Catalog, where the cloud administrator can create service offerings and group service offerings into packages for tenants
  • Service Blueprints workspace: Enables the cloud administrator to create service blueprints to use when creating a service offering in the Service Catalog
  • Tenants workspace: Enables the cloud administrator to onboard and manage tenants and to manage tenant access to requestable software
  • Service Governor workspace: Enables the cloud administrator to create placement policies that determine which resources are used when a service is requested
  • Resources workspace: Enables the cloud administrator to onboard and manage cloud resources that are used when a service is requested
  • Audit Trail workspace: Enables the cloud administrator to view and search live and archived pending activity records for all workspaces and enables you to monitor the health status of DSO and the Reconciliation Engine.

Accessing workspaces

To access the workspaces, click the vertical Workspaces menu on the left, shown in the following figure, and select a workspace.
