Creating compute resource pools

You must add compute resources to an administrator-created compute resource pool before the resources can be used in the cloud. This topic describes how to create a compute resource pool. It contains the following sections:

Resource pool requirements

When creating a compute resource pool, you can either create an empty compute resource pool and add resources to it later, or you can add previously onboarded resources to the pool.

A compute resource pool can contain only:

  • Resources of the same type
  • Resources from the same pod
  • Resources from the same provider

For information about compute resource pools, see Compute-resources-and-compute-resource-pools-overview.

To create a compute resource pool

The macro unmigrated-inline-wiki-markup from Confluence is no longer available.

The compute pool is created, and if you added resources, they are added to the pool and are now available for cloud services. To add more resources to the pool, see Adding-compute-resources-to-compute-resource-poolsto add more resources.

After adding resources to a pool, continue with Mapping-compute-pools-to-network-containers.

After the activity is marked as complete, you can click the Refresh icon refreshbtn.gifin the upper-right corner of the window to refresh the list of Compute Pools.
