Upgrading

This section provides detailed information about the process that you must perform to upgrade your BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management solution from a previous version to the latest. Before upgrading the products, you must add all the products from the 2.1.x environment to the 3.0 environment. You must perform this step to prevent any installer registry issues during the upgrade.

When you are creating the installation environment by adding 2.1.x products to the 3.0 environment, you can change the deployment type of your BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management environment, if required. For example if you installed a Small deployment type during 2.1.x, you can change the deployment type to Medium or Large when you add products to the 3.0 environment.

Note

Downsizing a deployment type without prior preparation might cause issues with your installation environment.
