Deregistering a resource provider instance

Failed to execute the [bmc-contextid] macro.

If you want to remove a resource provider from the cloud, you can deregister that provider instance.

For example, if you decide to increase the capacity of your BMC Server Automation console server by moving it to a larger physical server, you might need to deregister the current instance.

You cannot deregister a provider if any objects or resources from that provider exist.

Before you begin

Before you can deregister a resource provider instance, you must first offboard all of the resources from that provider instance, as described in Offboarding-compute-resources.

To deregister a resource provider instance

  1. From the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management Administration Console, click the vertical Workspaces menu on the left side of the window and select Providers.
The list of registered resource provider instances is displayed.
  2. Select the resource provider instance that you want to remove, and click the Deregister icon minus_button.gif.
  3. When the confirmation dialog box is displayed, click OK.

The macro unmigrated-inline-wiki-markup from Confluence is no longer available.

After you deregister a provider instance, you can no longer onboard or use resources from that provider instance.
