Editing a resource provider instance


Failed to execute the [bmc-contextid] macro. Cause: [Missing macro content: this macro requires content (a body)]. Click on this message for details.

If you need to change some of the information that you supplied when you registered a resource provider instance during installation, you can edit the information. You can change anything except Provider Type and Name.

To edit a resource provider instance

  1. From the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management Administration Console, click the vertical Workspaces menu on the left side of the window and select Providers.
     The Provider workspace is displayed.
  2. Click the Compute, Network, or Storage provider Category on the left.
  3. In the table, select the resource provider instance that you want to edit, and click the Edit icon edit_button.gif.
     The Edit Provider dialog box is displayed with the current information. For detailed information about provider inputs, click one of the following
  4. Make your changes. 

    Note

    You cannot change the Provider Type or Name.

  5. Click Submit.

Network provider field descriptions

  • Name — Lists the name of the provider.
  • Description — Lists the user-created description of the provider.
  • Host — Enter the name of the BMC Network Automation host computer.
  • Port — Enter the web services communication port number for the BMC Network Automation instance.
  • Protocol — Enter the web services protocol needed to connect to the BMC Network Automation instance, such as https.
  • Username — Enter the BMC Network Automation user name.
  • Password — Enter the password for the user name provided.
  • Timeout Period — Enter the timeout period for outgoing BMC Network Automation API calls from BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management.
  • Custom Action ID — (Optional) Enter the name of the custom action used for physical server provisioning. The default is Provision Switch Port.
  • Custom Action Arguments — (Optional) Enter any custom action argument in a comma separated list.

Storage provider field descriptions

  • Name — Lists the name of the provider.
  • Vendor — Lists the vendor of the storage provider. Only NetApp is supported.
  • Description — Lists the user-created description of the provider.
