The Service Governor workspace enables you to create policies that control which available resources are used when a user-requested service instance is created in the cloud. For overview information of policies, see Policy-management-overview.

You can create policies for:

  • Network Containers
  • Compute Pools
  • Virtual Disk Repository Pools

Features

  • Quick Links — Click to create a policy for one of the following:
    • Network Containers
    • Compute Pools
    • Virtual Disk Repository Pools
  • Edit Condition — Each policy type can have multiple conditions:
    • Match Any — This option is available only when multiple conditions are in the table. Match any of the tags specified in any of conditions:
      • A Network Container policy selects all network containers that match any of the tags specified in any of conditions.
      • A Compute Pool policy selects all compute resource pools that match any of the tags specified in any of conditions.
      • A Virtual Disk Repository Pools policy selects all virtual disk repositories that match any of the tags specified in any of conditions.
    • Match All — This option must match all of the tags specified in all the conditions.
      • A Network Container policy selects only the network containers that match all of the tags specified in all of the conditions.
      • A Compute Pool policy selects only the compute resource pools that match all of the tags specified in all of the conditions.
      • A Virtual Disk Repository Pools policy selects only the virtual disk repositories that match all of the tags specified in all of the conditions.
    • Add Condition — This option adds a new condition to the policy.
    • Tag Source — This option specifies whether you are matching tags in a service blueprint or network container.
    • Tag Group — This option specifies the tag group that contains tags that you want to match.
