Installing Microsoft SQL Server 2019

  1. Start setup.exe.

  2. Click Installation from left pane and then click New SOL Server stand-alone installation ... from the right pane.
    The SQL Server 2019 Setup wizard is launched.
  3. Enter your product key in the Product Key window and click Next.

  4. Select I accept the license terms on the License Terms window and click Next.

  5. Check if there are any updates available after your computer has established the connection to the SQL Server internet. If there are no updates to be installed, click Next, otherwise install these and restart this procedure.

  6. Click Next. The Install Setup Files window is displayed.

  7. Click Next. The Install Rules window appears on the screen and starts some initial tests.

    Note:

    Click Details / Hide Details to display or hide the tests and test results.

  8. Click Next.

  9. Select the required functionalities and modify the setup procedure if necessary in the Feature Selection window.

    A test is executed and its results are shown in the Features Rules window.

  10. If no issues are indicated, click Next.

  11. Keep the first option selected or choose a named instance and enter your instance ID in the Instance Configuration window. Click Next to continue.

  12. Configure the services as shown in the screenshot in the Server Configuration window.
  13. To configure the SQL Server collation as defined by Microsoft, click the tab Collation .

  14. Click Customize and configure the SQL Server collation as defined by Microsoft, that is Latin1_General_CI_AS_KS_WS as shown in the screenshot below.

  15. Click OK.
  16. Click Next.
  17. Select Mixed Mode and specify the password for the SQL Server system administrator (sa) account.
  18. Click Add Current User to add your SQL Server administrator account.

  19. Click the Data Directories, TempDB tabs and modify the setup procedure. To check the recommendations, see SQL Server recommendations.
  20. Click Next. A summary of the elements to be installed is displayed.

  21. If all selections displayed in the Ready to Install window are correct, click Install to launch the actual installation.
  22. When all features are installed and their status is set to Succeeded in the Complete window, click Close .

The installation process executed successfully.

To install SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)

Perform the following steps to download the last SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)

  1. Launch SSMS-Setup-ENU.
