Installing Oracle


  1. Log on as the Oracle user.

    su - oracle
  2. Run the following command in the database directory.

    ./runInstaller
  3. (Optional) In step 1 (Configure Security Updates), select Set Up Software Only and click Next.

  4. In step 2 (Database Installation Option), select Single instance database installation and click Next.

  5. In step 3 (Database Edition), select Enterprise Edition and click Next.

  6. In step 4 (Installation Location), enter the path for Oracle base. Click Next.

  7. In step 5 (Create Inventory), enter the path for Inventory Directory. Click Next.

  8. In step 6 (Operating System Groups), verify if the pre-entered values are correct and modify if necessary. Click Next.

  9. In step 7 (Root script execution), specify the password for the root user. Click Next.

  10. In step 8 (Prerequisite Checks), the installer runs prerequisite checks and verifies for the minimum requirements. If all tests are successful, click Install.

  11. In step 9 (Summary), verify that all settings are correct and click Install.

  12. In step 10 (Install Product), click Next.

  13. In step 11 (Finish), click Close to terminate the installation.

    Registration of Oracle database is complete.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
