Installing BMC Client Management on macOS by using the pull method


BMC Client Management is installed on a device with macOS by using the pull method.

To install BMC Client Management on a macOS device

  1. From the rollout portal, download the installer for BCM agent for macOS.

  2. The downloaded file has .dms extension. To run this file, it is necessary to open it using the command line.

  3. Open command line and enter cd /Users/Your_Own_User/Download/.

  4. Enter chmod +x BCM_Agent.dms to give you the execution rights on the file.

  5. Enter sudo ./BCM_Agent. The following popup is displayed.

    The installation does not start unless macOS verifies that the downloaded file is free from malware.
  6. To verify, go to System preferences > Security & Privacy > General.
    A message is displayed to allow BCM agent download.

  7. Click Allow Anyway.
  8. Go back to the command line and enter ./BCM_Agent.
    The following popup is displayed.

  9. Click Open.
    The BCM agent is installed on your macOS device.
