Context-sensitive online-help for the console


Context sensitive online help for the console is available in the form of HTML pages for a specific object.

Online help for the console is accessible through the Help menu in the menu bar, the Help Current Node icon in the icon bar, through menu items in the context sensitive pop-up menus and through the F1 keyboard shortcut. The online help can also be accessed via the agent interface alias:



https://<servername or IP>:<port number>/help/<language>

For example: https://192.168.193.200:1701/help/English/

<language> can be either English for the US and British English help, Francais for the French version, Espanol for the Spanish version or Brasileiro for the Brazilian Portuguese version.

For any other console language the online help is only available in English.

The following different types of online help are accessible through the Help menu:

Help Contents

By selecting this option ( contents.png) you call up the table of contents of the complete Administrator's guide to BMC Client Management in the form of on-line help.

Help Current Node

By selecting this item you call up the context sensitive on-line help page for the currently selected node. You can also do so by pressing the F1 button with the selected node enabled, clicking the Help Current Node icon ( node.png) in the icon bar or in the context sensitive pop-up menus.

Help Current Tab

By selecting this item ( tab.png) you call up the context sensitive online help page for the currently selected tab.

Online Wiki Help

When selecting this item ( wiki.png) a new browser window/tab opens on the docs.bmc.com home page for Client Management . This is the most up-to-date version of the online help. If you have a support ID and are logged in you can also make comments on pages to help us improve the existing documentation.

The online help pages will be displayed in html format in a browser window. The following example shows the help page for the main Queries node:
