Maintenance Pages
What are the Maintenance Pages?
The Maintenance Pages of the agent interface were specifically created for maintenance crews and support people to facilitate their tasks on site. In case of a problem, they can execute specific operational rules directly from the local interface to solve the issue. By default, all operational rules an administrator can see and manage in the console are available on the Maintenance Pages in the agent interface.
What can I do on the Maintenance Pages?
The Maintenance Pages allow the administrator to restore the list of operational rules and distribution rules of a device that has crashed. They also enable the administrator to follow the execution status of rules assigned to the client.
How do I access the Maintenance Pages?
The Maintenance Pages are part of the agent interface; however, they cannot be accessed through the regular interface. To log on to this page you must first provide a local administrator access to the device in the respective boxes.
To open the page enter the following address into the browser:
http://<client name>:<console port number>/maintenance
for example,
http://scotty:1611/maintenance
Then, to log on to the Maintenance Pages you must provide the following information in the respective boxes:
Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
Name | Enter the name of the master in this field (the short or long network name or its IP address in dotted notation, for example, 127.0.0.1). |
Port | Enter the port number of the master on which the connection will be established – by default this is 1610. |
Login | Enter the login name to the master - not the general login to the computer on which the master is installed. This can be, for example, admin with no password, if you have not modified the default settings from the initial installation of the software. |
Password | The password corresponding to the preceding login. |
The page will be available only if the client has received its GUID, which cannot be the case if the device had to be reinstalled and has not yet been recognized by the master.
For security reasons, the connection with the maintenance page is disabled after 30 minutes of inactivity. The user is automatically redirected to the maintenance login page and must enter his logon, and so on again to continue working on maintenance.
What types of rules are available on the Maintenance Pages?
There are two types of rules available on the Maintenance pages:
- Active Operational Rules
Active rules are all those rules that were assigned to a device or a device group. - Additional Operational Rules
Additional rules are all those rules that were created but are not assigned to any device or group.
How do I execute a rule in the Maintenance Pages?
Rules in the Maintenance Pages are executed in exactly the same way as in MyApps .
