Wizards
CM provides a number of wizards to simplify object operations in the network via the console.
Depending on your licenses not all wizards listed here may be available.
Wizards are available from the general Wizards menu, the Wizards box of the dashboard (alternatively to the Guided Tasks box) and under the individual functionalities.
The following wizards are available in the console from all locations:

Agent Rollout Wizard | This wizard guides you through the complete process of setting up an agent rollout, including the target definition. |
Asset Discovery Wizard | This wizard allows you to scan your network for all its hardware and to collect the basic hardware, software, security and connectivity inventory available on these. |
Application Management Wizard | This wizards guides you through the process of defining applications for monitoring, prohibiting or protecting and allows you to directly assign and apply these to targets. This wizard requires the Application Management license. |
OS Deployment Wizard | The OSD wizard provides you with the complete processes of all different types of operating system image deployment or creation. This wizard requires the Operating System Deployment license. |
Package Creation Wizard | This wizard guides you through all the steps necessary to create a new custom, MSI or RPM package and also provides the possibility to directly distribute it. This wizard requires the Distribution license. |
Package Distribution Wizard | This wizard allows you to distribute existing custom, MSI or RPM packages to any number of target devices/users or groups. This wizard requires the Distribution license. |
Operational Rule Creation Wizard | This wizard guides you through all the steps necessary to create a new operational rule and also provides the possibility to directly distribute it. |
Operational Rule Distribution Wizard | This wizard allows you to distribute an existing operational rule to any number of target devices/users or groups. |
Patch/Service Pack Distribution Wizard | This wizard guides you through the individual steps of the patching process, either only to download any possibly necessary patches or to go through the complete process of downloading and applying the patches on the affected devices. This wizard requires the Patch Management license. |
Report Creation Wizard | The report wizard leads you through the individual steps of creating a report on a specific object and generating it. |
These wizards can only be called under the respective functionalities:

Port Configuration Wizard | This wizard allows you to create new port lists to be directly assigned to a scan configuration. |
Software Inventory Filter Definition Wizard | This wizard allows you to define a software inventory filter and directly apply it to its targets. This wizard requires the Inventory license. |
The wizard window is composed of two panels, the left panel displaying the list of steps that compose the wizard and the right panel offering the object options and parameters. The currently displayed step is marked in bold in the step list.
Depending on the selections made in the right window panel the steps listed in the left panel will appear if they are added by the selection or they will stay dimmed if they are unselected, thus not available.
The navigation buttons at the bottom of the window allow you to move forward/backwards within the wizard steps. The Next button will stay dimmed in a step until the necessary selections were made. Some wizards, such as the Operating System Deployment wizard do not provide you the possibility to go back all the way to the first page, later selections making this impossible.
To call the context sensitive online help on a specific wizard panel click the help icon 
next to the step name. A browser window will open then on your screen displaying the help page for the selected step.
