To install the following preconfigured artifacts that are required for the solution, use the TrueSight Orchestration Content installer:

  • Change and Task Templates
  • Incident Templates
  • Filters

See Artifact-and-configuration-reference-for-Continuous-Compliance-for-Server-Automation for more information on BMC Remedy ITSM and TrueSight Orchestration artifacts installed with with the solution.

BMC Remedy ITSM version 8.0.00 requirements

If you are using BMC Remedy ITSM version 8.0.00, you must make the following change to the default configuration to use the solution:

  1. Open the Application Administration Console.
  2. Select Custom Configuration > Incident Management > Rules > Search.
  3. Clear the Require Service CI Related On Submit check box.

TrueSight Orchestration Platform

For instructions about installing TrueSight Orchestration platform, see Installing – Classic mode.

TrueSight Orchestration Content

20.19.01

Install TrueSight Orchestration Content after installing the platform.

Install the Continuous Compliance for Servers solution by using the BSM Solutions path in the content installer.

For instructions, see Step 4: Install the TrueSight Orchestration content components.

TrueSight Server Automation

8.9.04

  • You must install the NSH component on the same system where you install the TrueSight Orchestration CDP. For instructions, see the topics for installing NSH on Windows or UNIX, available in TrueSight Server Automation online documentation.
  • After the Network Shell is installed, use the blcred command line utility to cache the TrueSight Server Automation user. For instructions about using the blcred command line utility, see the TrueSight Server Automation Network Shell Command Reference of TrueSight Server Automation online documentation.
  • To launch the TrueSight Server Automation Console from the BMC Remedy ITSM task ticket, complete the following steps:
    • Install the TrueSight Server Automation Console on the same system as the BMC Remedy ITSM client. Launch of the TrueSight Server Automation Console is not supported from BMC Remedy mid tier.
    • Update the RCP Console configuration group in the BladeLogic ITSM Integration module. See RCP Console configuration group for BladeLogic ITSM Integration for details.
  • To have BMC Atrium CMDB configuration item (CI) relationships created in the task ticket for the target servers, you must:
    • Install and configure BMC Decision Support - Server Automation. For installation instructions, see Installing in the BMC Decision Support - Server Automation documentation.

      OR
Install and configure TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse. For installation instructions, see Installing in the TrueSight Smart Reporting for Server Automation documentation.

    • Install and use TrueSight Server Automation Integration for Atrium (now called TrueSight Server Automation Integration for CMDB) 8.9.04. Otherwise, the consistency of server naming between BMC Atrium CMDB, BMC Remedy ITSM, and TrueSight Server Automation must be ensured through other custom processes. For installation instructions, see Installing-BMC-BladeLogic-Atrium-Integration.

BMC Decision Support - Server Automation

OR

8.9.00

Install BMC Decision Support - Server Automation or TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse.

This product is necessary to obtain data from TrueSight Server Automation, and is required for CI relationships that are created in the task ticket for the target servers.

TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse

8.9.04.001

BMC BladeLogic Atrium Integration (now called TrueSight Server Automation Integration for CMDB)

8.9.00

Required for consistency of server naming between BMC Atrium CMDB, BMC Remedy ITSM and TrueSight Server Automation

After installing all the products listed above, install BMC BladeLogic Atrium Integration.

Before you can install BMC BladeLogic Atrium Integration, you must run the extract, transform, and load (ETL) tool provided by BMC Decision Support - Server Automation.

Note: Before running the BMC BladeLogic Atrium Integration installer on a Linux system, ensure that the libstdc++.so.5 library is present. This library is required by the native RIK process used by BLAtrium installer.

For a complete list of dependency libraries, review the following topic in the BMC Remedy ITSM Suite 18.08 Deployment online documentation:

Preparing a UNIX environment

Step 2: Review known issues

See Known-issues-and-workarounds-in-continuous-compliance-for-servers.

Step 3: Create BMC Remedy ITSM user accounts

After the initial installation procedures have been completed, you must create BMC Remedy ITSM user accounts.

Step 4: Install the Continuous Compliance for Server Automation solution

You install the solution using the TrueSight Orchestration content installer, which installs the TrueSight Orchestration artifacts (adapters and modules), BMC Remedy AR System artifacts, and BMC Remedy ITSM templates.

To download the content installation program

The TrueSight Orchestration content installation program is available for download from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website at http://webapps.bmc.com/epd. The secure BMC customer support website requires that you enter the username and password you received when you purchased the product.

When downloading the content installation files, verify that you download the right installation program for your environment.

Filename

Installs

setup.cmd
