Documentation update To provide a better user experience, we have now created a separate documentation space for BMC Helix Automation Console (previously called BMC Helix Vulnerability Management). Users of BMC Helix Automation Console can find the latest documentation at BMC Helix Automation Console..

Configuring the number of targets for running jobs

When you create a patch or compliance policy or an operation, a patch job is created in TrueSight Server Automation. By default, the maximum number of targets on which this job can run simultaneously is limited to 60. You can configure this setting.

Ensure that the version of TrueSight Server Automation that is installed in your environment is 21.3 or later.

Do the following:

  1. Login to the Automation Console server.
  2. Navigate to the following path:
    <installation_directory>/truesight/application/app/policy-service/config
  3. In a text editor, open the application.properties file.
  4. Search for the tssa.job.max.parallel.targets parameter.
  5. Configure any of the following values:
    • tssa.job.max.parallel.targets=0 - Indicates that the job can be run simultaneously on as many targets as possible.
    • tssa.job.max.parallel.targets=-1 - Indicates that the job is run simultaneously on the targets based on the value configured for the GlobalDefaultJobParallelism property in TrueSight Server Automation.
    • tssa.job.max.parallel.targets=<targets_count> - Indicates that the job is run simultaneously on the specified number of targets.
      Example: tssa.job.max.parallel.targets=2
    • Save the changes.
  6. Restart the TrueSight Automation Console service.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
