Applications Overview - Synthetic dashlet
When you create or modify a dashboard, select and configure the Applications Overview - Synthetic dashlet to display the overall performance, based on defined SLAs, for applications with synthetic monitoring enabled.

Understanding the dashlet data
The Applications Overview - Synthetic dashlet provides a view of the performance of up to 15 applications with synthetic transactions. It displays a timeline of the applications' status. The status is based on the status of synthetic transactions.
- If you select the Static option, the dashlet displays data for up to 15 applications that you select. The applications are sorted by severity .
- If you select Rule Based, the dashlet displays up to 15 applications that meet the criteria that you select.
If you select a single application in the dashboard Global Filter , the dashlet shows data for that application only.

The dashlet shows data for the Time Period selected in the dashboard Global Filter. The Applications Overview - Synthetic dashlet can show data for time ranges of up to 1 day. The dashlet does not support the 2-day time period.
Each data point represents a five-minute aggregation of data. If an error occurs in the first minute of the five-minutes, the error is not displayed on the dashlet until the five minutes are complete. The first data point always shows no errors.
You can examine data in the dashlet by performing the following tasks:
Viewing tooltips over data points in the graph
Hover over a point in the graph to see the end time of the bucket for that point, and the number of impacted executions and total number of executions at that point.
Drilling down to the Application View
Click on any data point on the graph to see details in the Application View for the application at the selected time.
Dashlet requirements
The Applications Overview - Synthetic dashlet requires at least one application that has synthetic monitoring enabled.
Configuring the dashlet
You configure this dashlet when you add or edit a dashboard.
- Click Add Dashlet and select the Application Overview - Synthetic dashlet.
- Click the Configure Dashlet
icon.
Complete the following fileds:

Title
(Optional) Enter a descriptive title for the dashlet.
Type
Select the type of display you want on the dashlet:
- Rule Based - The dashlet displays data for applications based on selection criteria.
- Static - The dashlet displays data for applications that you select.
Default value is Rule Based.
Rule Based
Number of Applications
Select the number of applications to be displayed. Applications with the highest severity that match the other selected criteria are shown. Possible values are: 5, 10, or 15.
Default value is 5.Severity
Select the severity levels of the applications to be shown. You can select one or more severity levels. Possible values are: Critical, Minor, and OK.
Default value is Critical and Minor.Condition
Select a logical operator for filtering the applications shown. The Condition operator acts on the Severity and Importance fields. Possible values are:
- AND - Applications must match selected Severity and Importance criteria in order to be shown.
- OR - Applications must match either the selected Severity or the selected Importance in order to be shown.
Default value is OR.
Importance
Select the importance levels of the applications to be shown. You can select one or more importance levels. Possible values are: High, Medium, and Low.
By default no importance is selected.Static
Applications
Click Select to open the Select Application dialog box and select the applications you want to monitor in this dashlet. If you have applications selected, click Change to open the Select Application dialog box. After you close the Selected Application dialog box, selected applications are listed on the Applications list. To remove them from the list, deselect the checkboxes.
General
Height
Select the height of the dashlet row within the dashboard. Possible values are: 2X, 3X, or 4X.
The value of X is approximately 100 pixels. The default height is 3X .- Click Apply.
