23.4.01

Accessing the BMC Helix Automation Console by using the BMC Helix Portal

You can now log in to BMC Helix Automation Console through the BMC Helix Portal by using the BMC Helix Single Sign-On credentials. You must select either the Helix endpoint or the TrueSight Server Automation (TSSA) endpoint to access the Automation Console as this selected endpoint determines the layout of the Automation Console user interface.

For more information, see Accessing-and-navigating-the-Automation-Console-interface.

Switching the endpoint to change the layout of the BMC Helix Automation Console user interface

You can now switch between the Helix endpoint or the TrueSight Server Automation (TSSA) endpoint to view the Automation Console.

For more information, see Switching the endpoint.

Accessing the BMC Helix Automation Console by using REST APIs

BMC Helix Automation Console uses the JSON Web Token (JWT), that is generated from the BMC Helix Portal, to access the Automation Console by using REST APIs. You can generate the JSON Web Token (JWT) using access and secret keys generated in the BMC Helix Portal.

For more information, see Using-REST-APIs.

Configuring roles and permissions through the BMC Helix Portal

You can configure role-based access control (RBAC) through the BMC Helix Portal to delegate access permissions to users and groups of users.

For more information, see Roles-and-permissions-for-the-BMC-Helix-Portal.

Adding a security group by using the BMC Helix Automation Console

When you add a security group through the BMC Helix Automation Console, a role with the same name is created in the BMC Helix Portal with the default permissions assigned. If this role already exists in the BMC Helix Portal, then you must manually assign the required permissions to that particular role in the BMC Helix Automation Console. The Automation Console tabs and pages are accessible based on the permissions assigned to the role in the BMC Helix Portal.

For more information, see Working-with-security-groups.
