We are announcing enhancements to the BMC Compuware Shared Services product.

Overview of the enhancements
This section describes the following enhancements:
- The PL/I Expression Parser now supports adjustable arrays and BASED multi-line clauses. The CSS language processor can determine the appropriate offset length for the strings that are displayed in other BMC products. For more information, see PL-I-Language-Processor.
- You can now use ESS (YES) without a DD name (CWPDDIO). For more information, see PL-I-usage-restrictions and CREATEJCL-preparing-compiler-listings-for-the-LP.
Obtaining the enhancements
The following PTFs enable the enhancements:

We recommend that you obtain the enhancements by using the SMP/E RECEIVE ORDER command. For more information, see Using SMP/E RECEIVE ORDER. However, you can also use the following method:
Navigate to BMC Compuware maintenance packaging engine and select the Compuware-Products tab.
- In Order Type, select Cumulative Maintenance, and search for BMC Compuware Enterprise Common Components.
- Click the BMC Compuware Enterprise Common Components 17.02 row, review and select from the list of Required Dependent Products and Recommended products, and click Done to add the product.
- Click Continue to proceed, select the relevant options across the ordering stages, and complete the ordering process.
To view a list of PTFs included in the cumulative maintenance, go to BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD), locate the required product name and version, and click the PTF text file.
