System symbols

System symbols are defined in the following ways:

  • In an IEASYM xx member in SYS1.PARMLIB
  • Defined by the system (For example, &SYSNAME.)

System symbols have the following format:

& syssym.

The symbol starts with an ampersand (&) followed by the text of the symbol (syssym) and terminated by a period.
