Viewing user information

Users are automatically created the first time they log on to TrueSight Vulnerability Management. If a user is a member of more than one security group, the user inherits the combined rights of all those groups.

Typically, users do not need to be aware of their membership in security groups. The one action in TrueSight Vulnerability Management that does expose users to security groups is the creation of a new operation. In this case, if the user belongs to more than one security group, the user is asked which security group they would like to use when creating the operation.

Selecting a security group has the following implications:

  • TrueSight Server Automation—When creating a new operation, if users belong to more than one security group, they are asked which security group they would like to use. That choice defines the corresponding  role for any jobs that are automatically created in TrueSight Server Automation. The choice of security group can also determine default job and depot folders and Deploy job templates.
  • TrueSight Network Automation—When creating a new operation, if users belong to more than one security group, they are asked which security group they would like to use. That choice defines the corresponding realm for any corrective actions that are automatically created in TrueSight Network Automation.
  • SCCM—When creating a new operation, if users belong to more than one security group, they are asked which security group they would like to use. That choice defines the corresponding Active Directory group for any Software Updates that are automatically created in SCCM.
