Managing exceptions
Consider the following scenarios:
- You do not want certain vulnerabilities in your system to affect a set of assets because you plan to decommission those assets in the near future.
- You do not want certain vulnerabilities in your system to affect a set of assets for a particular duration and remediate those assets for those vulnerabilities during the maintenance window.
To handle these scenarios, you can create exceptions on the assets for the selected set of vulnerabilities. After you add an exception, those assets are no longer affected by the selected vulnerabilities.
The Exception Management page of TrueSight Vulnerability Management lets you perform the following actions:
- View a list of exceptions that have been added. If no exceptions have been added, you can either import them or add them manually, and associate them with vulnerabilities and assets.
- Enable, disable, and delete exceptions.
- Export exceptions in the system to a CSV file.
