Old and new Self Service Portal interfaces

This section describes how administrators use the Self Service Portal Configuration tool to administer system settings.

The following video compares the Self Service Portal design elements enhanced from BMC Virtual Chat version 9.1.00 to version 9.1.01:

With 8.1.02 and later, BMC Virtual Chat provides two Self Service Portal interfaces. You do not have to enable or disable these interfaces to use them. Provide users with the URL for the interface that you want them to use. You can offer both URLs, and the Support Agent Console works with both.

Following are the URLs for the old and new interfaces:

  • URL for new interface: http://midTierServerName:portNumber/eschat/
  • URL for old interface: http://midTierServerName:portNumber/eschat/arhome.html

For example, a support agent might have two simultaneous chat sessions, one with a user on the new interface and another on the old interface. For older browsers, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 8, you might use the older Self Service Portal interface.
