Linking to BMC Virtual Chat from BMC Service Request Management

You can enable users to access BMC Virtual Chat from the Request Entry console in BMC Service Request Management by using one of the following methods:

Linking method

Description

Quick link

Displays a link to the BMC Virtual Chat portal in the Quick Links pod on the Request Entry console

Marketing slide

Displays an image as part of the slide show in the Request Entry console. Users click the image to open the BMC Virtual Chat portal.

Quick launch SRD

Opens the BMC Virtual Chat portal when users select that service.

The quick launch SRD must be linked to a quick launch PDT. A quick launch PDT contains a quick launch AOT that points to a URL. For more information, see the following topics in the BMC Service Request Management documentation:

Configure any of the preceding methods with the URL to the BMC Virtual Chat portal. The standard URL for the BMC Virtual Chat portal is as follows:

http:// midTierServerName :PortNumber/eschat/
