Summary reports

NGT Utility Manager generates reports that provide the following information:

  • Table spaces selected for processing

  • Table spaces excluded from processing

  • Indexes selected for processing

  • Indexes excluded from processing

For more information, see the following examples.

Examples of reorg table space reports

The following report examples are for a two-part table space. The product selects the second partition of the table space and the second partition of a partitioned index.

Reorg table space reports

The following example shows a reorg table space report:

RTS REORG TABLESPACE REPORT (STATEMENT 1)
  DATABASE TABLESPACE SELECTION
  NAME NAME PART(S) REASON
  -------- ---------- --------- ------------------
  DBASE001 TSPACE41 0002 INSERTS_PERCENTAGE

The following reasons for selection might appear in this report:

  • MASS_DELETE_VALUE

  • INSERTS_PERCENTAGE

  • DELETES_PERCENTAGE

  • UPDATES_PERCENTAGE

  • INSERT/DELETE/UPDATE_PERCENTAGE

  • INDREF_PERCENTAGE

  • UNCLUSTERED_INSERTS_PERCENTAGE

  • EXTENTS_VALUE

  • NO DB2 RTS VALUES FOR OBJECT

  • AREO

  • ALLOCATED/USED RATIO

Reorg excluded table space report

The following example shows a reorg excluded table space report:

RTS REORG EXCLUDED TABLESPACE REPORT (STATEMENT 1)
  DATABASE TABLESPACE EXCLUDE
  NAME NAME PART(S) REASON
  -------- ---------- --------- -----------------------
  DBASE001 TSPACE41 0001 PASSED ALL RTS CRITERIA

The following exclude reasons can appear in this report:

  • PASSED ALL RTS CRITERIA
  • EMPTY TABLESPACE

Examples of reorg index reports

The following report examples are for a two-part table space. The product selects the second partition of the table space and the second partition of a partitioned index.

Reorg index report

The following example shows a reorg index report:

RTS REORG INDEX REPORT (STATEMENT 1)
  INDEX INDEX SELECTION
  CREATOR NAME PART(S) REASON
  --------------- --------------- --------- -------------------
  PRODDBA C041IX03 0001 INSERTS_PERCENTAGE

The following criteria selections could have generated this report:

  • MASS_DELETE_VALUE

  • INSERTS_PERCENTAGE

  • DELETES_PERCENTAGE

  • INSERT/DELETE_PERCENTAGE

  • PSEUDO-DELETED_PERCENTAGE

  • LEAF_LIMIT_PERCENTAGE

  • APPENDED_INSERTS_PERCENTAGE

  • NUMBER_OF_LEVELS_VALUE

  • EXTENTS_VALUE

  • NO DB2 RTS VALUES FOR OBJECT

  • AREO

Reorg excluded index report

The following example shows a reorg excluded index report:

RTS REORG EXCLUDED INDEX REPORT (STATEMENT 1)
  INDEX INDEX EXCLUDE
  CREATOR NAME PART(S) REASON
  --------------- --------------- --------- -----------------------
PRODDBA C041IX01 0001 PASSED ALL RTS CRITERIA

Note

When NGT Utility Manager selects a table space or table space partition for reorganization, NGT Reorg reorganizes the associated index partitions and non-partitioned indexes. These index partitions and non-partitioned indexes do not appear in the reorg index report or the reorg excluded index report.

These index partitions and non-partitioned indexes do not pass through the evaluation process. NGT Reorg processes them only because you selected the table space or table space partitions for reorganization.
