Universal Information Exchange (UIE) is a software component that runs on your mainframe system to read and process SMF/RMF and subsystem data collected from target IBM z/OS images.
Universal Information Exchange/VM (UIE/VM) is a tool that processes performance metrics, enabling you to do capacity planning for subsystems running on VM/ESA and z/VM. The metrics collected can show whether certain conditions can affect performance.
