Viewing the ETL status

The following topics explain how to view the summary of all extract, transform, and load (ETL) runs and the status of an individual ETL run by using the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console.

To view the summary of ETL runs by using the console

  1. Launch the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console.

     Perform the following steps to access the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console:

    1. Use the following URL to open the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse login page:
      https://<TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse hostname>:<portNumber>/tssa-dw
    2. In the User Name and Password fields, enter the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse administrator credentials.
      Default user name: DWAdmin
      By default, the password is hidden. To view the password, click .

    3. In Site, select a site. The Primary Site is the default site.

    4. In Authentication Method, select a authentication method. SRP is the default authentication method.
    5. Click LOG IN.

  2. Click ETL Management > ETL Status.
    The ETL Status Summary page displays the following columns:

    ColumnDescription
    Operation

    Name of the ETL run. Every ETL run is assigned a unique name.

    To view the details of an ETL run, click the name of the ETL run.
    Status

    Status of an ETL run, as follows: 

    •  indicates that the ETL run completed successfully. 
    •  indicates that the ETL run failed.
    •  indicates that the ETL run is in progress.
    •  indicates that the ETL run is waiting.
    Start TimeTime when an ETL run started
    End TimeTime when an ETL run ended
    Duration (s)Time for an ETL run to finish (seconds)
    Context

    ETL context name of the TrueSight Server Automation site for which ETL was run

    You can use the Search field on this page to search for ETL runs. 

    Note

    Click the Refresh icon to see the latest state of an ETL run.

To view the detailed status of an ETL run by using the console

  1. Launch the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console.

     Perform the following steps to access the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console:

    1. Use the following URL to open the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse login page:
      https://<TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse hostname>:<portNumber>/tssa-dw
    2. In the User Name and Password fields, enter the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse administrator credentials.
      Default user name: DWAdmin
      By default, the password is hidden. To view the password, click .

    3. In Site, select a site. The Primary Site is the default site.

  2. Click ETL Management > ETL Status
  3. On the ETL Status Summary page, in the ETL Run Name column, click the ETL run for which you want to view the detailed status. 
    The ETL Detailed Status page displays the following columns:

    ColumnDescription
    Session NameRepresents a scenario

    To see the details of a session, click the session name. For more details, see To browse sessions.
    StatusIndicates the status of a scenario run, as follows: 
    •  indicates that the scenario run completed successfully. 
    •  indicates that the scenario run failed.
      To view the step at which ETL failed and the reason for the failure, click . The Task Details page shows the error description and the destination command, which generated the error.
    •  indicates that a scenario is running.
    •  indicates that a scenario is waiting.
    Start TimeIndicates the time when a scenario started to run
    End TimeIndicates the time when a scenario run finished
    Duration (s)Indicates the time for a scenario run to finish
    Comparison with last ETL run

    Compares the time for a scenario run to finish in the current ETL run with the time for a scenario run in the last ETL run for a TrueSight Server Automation site

    To view the time taken by a scenario run to finish in the last ETL runs, click the icon. On the ETL Session History page, view the time taken by the scenario run in last 50 ETL runs.


    You can use the Search field on this page to search for sessions.

    Note

    Click the Refresh icon to see the latest state of a scenario run.

To browse sessions

  1. On the ETL Detailed Status page, in the Session Name column, click a session for which you want to view the steps. 
    The Session Steps page displays the following columns:

    ColumnDescription
    Step NameName of a step in the session
    StatusIndicates whether a step has run successfully, as follows:
    • indicates that the step run finished successfully. 
    • indicates that the step run failed.
    • indicates that a step is running.
    • indicates that a step is waiting.

    End TimeTime at which a step finished
    Duration (s)Time for a step to finish
    InsNumber of rows inserted in a reports data warehouse table because of the execution of the step
    UpdNumber of rows updated in a reports data warehouse table because of the execution of the step
    DelNumber of rows deleted from a reports data warehouse table because of the execution of the step
    Step TypeType of step, as defined in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)

    Note

    Click the Refresh icon to see the latest state of a step.

  2. To view the tasks in a step, click the step in the Step Name column.
    The Session Tasks page displays the following columns:

    ColumnDescription
    Task NameName of a task in the step
    StatusIndicates whether a task has run successfully, as follows:
    • indicates that the task finished successfully. 
    • indicates that the task failed.
    • indicates that a task is running.
    • indicates that a task is waiting.
    ObjectName of the object that got updated during the execution of the task
    NameName of the operation that was performed on the object during the execution of the task
    Start TimeTime at which a task started to run
    End TimeTime at which a task finished
    Duration (s)Time for a task to finish
    InsNumber of rows inserted in a reports data warehouse table because of the execution of the task

    Click the Refresh icon to see the latest state of a task.

  3. To view the task details, click the task in the Task Name column.
    The Task Details page shows the task details.
