Setting up data collection for Job Activity reports

The Job Activity reports show you how many jobs of a given type are running, the platforms on which they are running, their success rate, and other detailed information, such as job scheduling and job approval details.

Job Approval ad hoc reports use data that is part of job scheduling data from TrueSight Server Automation jobs requiring BMC Remedy IT Service Management (ITSM) Change Management approval.

Note

Data is loaded only for the Error and Warning event types from the TrueSight Server Automation database to the reports data warehouse in ad hoc Job Activity reports.

The TrueSight Server Automation administrator needs to configure TrueSight Server Automation to integrate with BMC Atrium Orchestrator and BMC Remedy ITSM, and then configure TrueSight Server Automation so that a given job type requires BMC Remedy ITSM approval before execution.

For more information about configuring the connections to BMC Atrium Orchestrator and BMC Remedy ITSM, see the following topics in the TrueSight Server Automation documentation:

Note

When an existing TrueSight Server Automation job is renamed and run, the job run details for the renamed job in the reports data warehouse and in reports are different from the job run details for the originally named job. The original job run details are associated with the original job name and the renamed job run details are associated with the new job name.

For more information about setting job approval types, see Selecting job types to which to apply job options for Change Automation in the TrueSight Server Automation documentation.

Running ETL

Run ETL to transfer the data to the reports data warehouse.
