Exporting, importing, and backing up report content

As a component administrator, you can migrate your content between multiple instances, such as from the QA to production instance. You can do this by exporting your content into an external file and then importing the file into the destination system.

To export report content

You can export report content as .yfx files. Do the following to export report content:

  1. Log in to the component console as the component administrator and open TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform.

  2. In the left navigation bar, expand  and go to Administration > Export.

  3. In the Search panel, search for the content that you want to add to the file.
  4. Drag and drop the selected content to the export list panel. You can view the status bar for a quick glimpse into the content that you selected from the file.
  5. (Optional) To view details of each export file content, click a content record.
  6. (Optional) To delete an item from the export list, do one of the following:
    • Select and drag it out of the export panel.
    • Hover over the item until a delete icon appears, and click the icon.
  7. Click Export to display the Export window.
  8. Enter a file name.
  9. (Optional) Enable the Save as template button if you want to save the content as a template and reuse it. In Template Name, enter a template name.
  10. Click Export. The exported file is saved in the directory where your downloaded items are saved, depending on your browser’s settings.

To import report content

You can import .yfx files that you previously exported from TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform. Do the following to import report content:

  1. Log in to the component console as the component administrator and open TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform.

  2. In the left navigation bar, expand  and go to Administration > Import.

  3. Browse to the file that you previously exported.
  4. Select one of the following options and click Continue.

    • All—Select this option to import all the data from the file including the primary and secondary content. If any data already exists in the new file, it will be added again.

    • Restore—Select this option to specify the primary content to import. All secondary content related to the primary content that you choose is imported.

    • Custom—Select this option to specify the primary and secondary content to import. You can customize the content that you want to import.

  5. If you have selected the Restore or Custom option, do the following:
    1. Click Settings.
    2. Toggle Use Existing Sources and select the applicable data source.
    3. Click Close.
    4. In the Search panel, search for the primary content that you want to import. If you have selected the Restore option, you can view only the primary content in the search panel of the import page. If you have selected the Custom option, you can view the list of primary and secondary content in the search panel of the import screen.

Note: Do not select any data sources

Do not select any data source while importing the content. If a data source is selected and imported, a new organization is created in the TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform instance, and the current organization stops working.

    5. Drag and drop the selected content to the import list panel.

  6. Click Import. After the import is successful, a summary of the imported data is displayed.
  7. Click OK.

What I see; Log in as: TS Smart Reporting - Platform Admin. login as tsradmin. THen login to ADmin Console. What should we select under Multi tenant login? I assume TSSA - Data Warehouse. Should not have to assume. Then on the left, under Administration, select Export.
