As an administrator, you can use the command line interface (CLI) to perform various actions in TrueSight Smart Reporting. You can run commands on the Windows and Linux operating systems. This topic provides information about setting up and running the CLI.

Setting up and running the command line interface

You can set up and run the command line interface on a computer whereTrueSight Smart Reporting is installed, or on a remote computer, where TrueSight Smart Reporting is not installed.

To set up and run the CLI on a computer where TrueSight Smart Reporting is installed

Do the following:

  1. Ensure that TrueSight Smart Reporting is up and running.
  2. Navigate to the following directory:
    • Windows: <TSSR_INSTALLATION_DIRECTORY>\utilities\cli 
    • Linux: <TSSR_INSTALLATION_DIRECTORY>/utilities/cli 
  3. Perform one of the following tasks depending on your operating system:

    • Windows: Run the TSR.bat file.
    • Linux: If you have not given the execute permission to the TSR.sh file after installing TrueSight Smart Reporting, do so now, and then run the file. Use one of the following commands to give the execute permissions:
      • ./TSR.sh
      • sh TSR.sh

To set up and run the CLI on a computer where TrueSight Smart Reporting is not installed

Do the following:

  1. Ensure the following:
    • TrueSight Smart Reporting is up and running.
    • The JAVA_HOME environment variable is configured on the computer where TrueSight Smart Reporting is not installed.
    • The target computer can access the computer where TrueSight Smart Reporting is installed.
  2. On the computer where TrueSight Smart Reporting is installed, navigate to the following directory:
    • Windows: <TSSR_INSTALLATION_DIRECTORY>\utilities\cli 
    • Linux: <TSSR_INSTALLATION_DIRECTORY>/utilities/cli 
  3. Copy the cli.zip file.

  4. On the target computer, paste and unzip the cli.zip file, and perform one of the following tasks depending on your operating system:

    • Windows: Run the TSR.bat file.

    • Linux: If you have not given the execute permission to the TSR.sh file after installing TrueSight Smart Reporting, do so now, and then run the file. Use one of the following commands to give the execute permissions:

      • ./TSR.sh
      • sh TSR.sh
