The installation process for TrueSight Smart Reporting requires you to complete your planning activities before starting the preparatory, installation, and post-installation tasks. The installation flow diagram and the process table enable you to install the solution smoothly.

Step 1: Complete the planning activities

As an IT architect or Solution Administrator, use this information to plan an installation of TrueSight Smart Reporting.

Step 2: Prepare for TrueSight Smart Reporting installation


Complete the preinstallation task to ensure a successful installation.

Step 3: Install TrueSight Smart Reporting

Use TrueSight Smart Reporting to generate and publish event and performance reports with a drag-and-drop action.

TrueSight Smart Reporting can be installed with one of these databases:

  • Oracle
  • SQL Server

Based on the database, choose the applicable procedure.

TrueSight Smart Reporting can also be installed in the application-high availability and disaster recovery mode. This installation is valid for all databases.

Step 4: Install TrueSight Operations Management Report Engine

TrueSight Smart Reporting uses the TrueSight Operations Management Report Engine to compile report data. The Report Engine collects event, impact, and performance data from the TrueSight Infrastructure Management server periodically.

Report Engine can be installed with one of these databases:

  • Oracle
  • SQL Server

Based on the TrueSight Smart Reporting installation, choose the applicable procedure.

Step 5: Complete the post-installation activity

Complete the post-installation activity to access TrueSight Smart Reporting from the TrueSight console.

    May i have documentation where " if we already have the old SAP BI solution used for the Database and want to use the same DB for Yellowfin" because Yellowifin installer always looks for the empty DB?

        Hello Avneesh,

        If you are using the 'SQL Anywhere for SAP Business Intelligence' repository database (Sybase) for SAP BI, it is not supported on TrueSight Smart Reporting.

        TrueSight Smart Reporting only supports MS SQL Server and Oracle databases as repository databases.
