Upgrading TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform silently


Where you are in the Upgrade process

To upgrade TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform silently

You can upgrade TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform silently if you have installed it silently. Do the following:

  1. Log in to the host computer where you want to upgrade TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform.
  2. On the host computer, ensure that you have Administrator privileges.
  3. Stop the TrueSightSmartReporting service. Do the following:
    • (Windows) Stop the TrueSightSmartReporting service.
      Note: TrueSight Smart Reporting in non-English localesIn non-English locales, the TrueSightSmartReporting service appears as the Yellowfin service.
    • (Linux) Navigate to the <install_dir>/appserver/bin/ folder and run the following command:
      ./shutdown.sh
  4. Back up the following:
    • TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform or Yellowfin database
    • TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform file system
  5. In the command-line interface, run the following command:

    java -jar TrueSight-SmartReporting-Update-19.3.jar -silent installdir="<TrueSight Smart Reporting installed directory>"

  6. Apply the TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform 19.3.00.001 hotfix.
    Do the following:
    1. Navigate to the FTP location for the hotfix.
    2. Download and unzip the TrueSightSmartReporting_HotFix_19.3.00.001.zip file.
    3. Navigate to the TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform installation directory and take a backup of the tsr.war file.
    4. Replace the existing tsr.war file with the file from the extracted.
  7. Start TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform. Do the following:
    • (Windows) Start the TrueSightSmartReporting service.
      Note: TrueSight Smart Reporting in non-English localesIn non-English locales, the TrueSightSmartReporting service appears as the Yellowfin service.
    • (Linux) Navigate to the <install_dir>/appserver/bin/ folder and run the following command:
      ./startup.sh
  8. Log in to TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform.

Troubleshooting

Unable to access TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform after an upgrade.

If you encounter errors when you try to access TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform after a successful upgrade, do not run the upgrade again.

Restart the TrueSightSmartReportingservice to avoid this issue.

If you run the upgrade again, you cannot access TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform and some database-related errors are displayed.
