Migrating patch repositories for AIX
The procedure described below generates an XML file that identifies the contents of the repository by its operating system and architecture and provides the means for TrueSight Server Automation to consolidate all of the AIX filesets in a single location so that the repository can be used as a source for an offline, patch catalog.
Use this procedure if the patch repository was initially created using BMC BladeLogic Vendor Patch Content.
In this procedure, you define the location where that data is stored as well as the location where you want to create the repository used by TrueSight Server Automation.
To create a repository for AIX
Enter the following command:
"<locationFilesets.txt>" -renamepayload
This command uses the following parameters:
<locationOperSysArch> | Location of the repository used by TrueSight Server Automation |
<locationExistingRepository> | Location of the metadata and payload you downloaded from the vendor site using the following format:
|
<locationFilestes.text> | If migrating from a BMC BladeLogic Vendor Patch Content patch repository, the Fileset.txt file is located in the Policy subdirectory of the AIX installation directory. For the TL 6100-04, point to the file located in: vpcInstallDir\aixpu\policies\6.1\Levels\6100-04. Quotation marks around the path are required. |
renamePayload | (Optional) If the source and the new repository are the same location, rename older payloads with the naming conventions used in the version 8.1.00 patch repository. If not specified, new copies of the older payloads are created. Quotation marks around the path are required. |
