Archiving the Presentation Server files
For troubleshooting purposes and to restore a working snapshot of the TrueSight Presentation Server, you can create an archive of the TrueSight Presentation Server installation files.
The following table lists the TrueSight Presentation Server installation files that are archived.
File type | Folder |
---|---|
Configuration | installationDirectory\truesightpserver\conf |
Index server data | installationDirectory\truesightpserver\modules\elasticsearch\data |
Log | installationDirectory\truesightpserver\logs |
Database | installationDirectory\truesightpserver\data\pgsql |
Note
It is not necessary for you to create archives regularly unless requested by Customer Support while resolving an issue.
Before running the tssh dump
command, ensure that you stop the Presentation Server.
To create an archive
Run the following command from the <Presentation Server installation directory>\truesightpserver\bin folder:
tssh dump export <optional output path>
By default, the archive is created in the <Presentation Server installation directory>\truesightpserver\tmp folder. To specify a custom folder, enter the folder path after tssh dump export
.
To import an archive
Run the following command from the <Presentation Server installation directory>\truesightpserver\bin folder:
tssh dump import <archive file path>
The existing files in the TrueSight Presentation Server are backed up and then replaced with the content in the archive file.
Comments
I have a doubt: As it reads from the yellow NOTE section "Before running the tssh dump command, ensure that you stop the Presentation Server", does this apply only for the "tssh dump import" command or also applies for the "tssh dump export command"? This may cause confusion.
