Troubleshooting event reinitialization errors

Supported with 11.3.02 and later

The tssh event reinitialize command is supported only with TrueSight Presentation Server version 11.3.02 and later.

The tssh event reinitialize command may fail sometimes and display the following error message:

The operation failed due to an unexpected problem. Check the tssh.log file for more details. Contact BMC Customer Support for further assistance.

The tssh.log file may have the following error messages:

  • Failure due to file not closed. 
    This message is relevant to the files not closed in the <Presentation Server Installation Directory>\truesightpserver\modules\elasticsearch\data\ directory.
  • Failure due to database process down

Workaround

  1. Run the following command to check the Presentation Server status:
    tssh server status
  2. Based on the tssh server status output, resolve the issues. For example, if the tssh server status displays the following output, troubleshoot to ensure that the Core Server and Index Server are up and running:

    Process status

    =====================================

    Core Server     Not running

    Index Server    Not running

    Database Server Running (7360)
