Configuring and operating Entuity Network Analytics extensible menus for TrueSight Network Automation

This topic explains how to configure Entuity Network Analytics extensible menus to display TrueSight Network Automation reports, and execute Network Automation span actions from Entuity Network Analytics.

To configure Entuity Network Analytics extensible menus for Network Automation

  1. Copy the sw_bna_menu_def.cfg file from BCAN_HOME\public\entuity to ENA_INSTALL\etc.
  2. Open the file ENA_INSTALL\etc\sw_bna_menu_def.cfg with a text editor and change all occurrences of <TrueSightNetworkAutomationServer>:<port> to the actual host name/IP address and web port where Network Automation is installed.
  3. Edit the file ENA_INSTALL\etc\sw_menu_def_site_specific.cfg and add the following line at the bottom of the file:

    {{code language="none"}}
    !sw_bna_menu_def.cfg

    {{/code}}
  4. Stop the Entuity Network Analytics server services.
  5. Re-run the configure program taking the defaults.
    You do not need to rebuild the database:
    • (Windows): ENA_INSTALL\install\configure
      or
      ENA_INSTALL\install\configure text
    • (UNIX): ENA_INSTALL/install/configure text
  6. Start the Entuity Network Analytics services.
    Note that after the Entuity Network Analytics services are started, it still can take an hour or so before the customized menu options appear.
