Configuring BMC Impact Integration Web Services

This section describes the configuration tasks required to enable your BMC Impact Integration Web Services server to connect to cells, and to enable your cells to connect to BMC Impact Integration Web Services server.

It also describes how to start, stop, and connect to the BMC Impact Integration Web Services server. See Starting, stopping, and connecting to the BMC Impact Integration Web Services server.

Before the BMC Impact Integration Web Services client can send events and queries to the BMC Impact Manager cell, you must enter the BMC Impact Manager cell related information in the mcell.dir file, which is present in the BMC Impact Integration Web Services installation folder.

Before the BMC Impact Integration Web Services client can subscribe and receive events from the cell, you must define propagate rules or event propagation policies for  the BMC Impact Manager cell so that the events flow from the BMC Impact Manager cell to the BMC Impact Integration Web Services.

To subscribe to events

Synchronizing BMC Impact Integration Web Services server and BMC Impact Manager

To receive events propagated from BMC Impact Manager cells, you must enter IIWSGatewayServer gateway server connection data in the mcell.dir file of each BMC Impact Manager cell that propagated events to the server and you must enter IIWSGatewayServer connection data in the mcell.dir of the BMC Impact Integration Web Services server.

Defining Propagate rules or event propagation policies for BMC Impact Manager

To receive events (aside from state change events) from BMC Impact Manager cells, you must define Propagate rules or event propagation policies that specify IIWSGatewayServer entry of the BMC Impact Integration Web Services server.

You do not need to define Propagate rules or event propagation policies to receive service component state change events. After you register the BMC Impact Integration Web Services server instance with the BMC Impact Manager cell, the cell automatically sends the state change events to the server.
