This section explains how to install TrueSight Capacity Optimizer for Mainframes and its related components.

System requirements

Before you begin

Before you install TrueSight Capacity Optimizer for Mainframes and its related components, review the following information:

  • You must have the following products or components installed before you install TrueSight Capacity Optimizer for Mainframes:
    • Universal Information Exchange (UIE) 1.9.10–latest patch
    • Capacity Management Database (CDB) 1.2.00–latest patch
    • TrueSight Capacity Optimization 11.3
  • TrueSight Capacity Optimizer for Mainframes requires data that is generated by UIE to be transferred to a Microsoft Windows workstation or server that is running the CDB Automator component. Configuring the CDB Windows server describes a process for pulling that data from the mainframe by using FTP.
